[---Story Summary---]

Born a rogue named Ashen, a tom-kit is left at the edge of SnowClan's territory by his parents. Adopted into the clan, Ashen becomes an apprentice named Ashenpaw and is assigned Venomfire as his mentor. Due to the traumatic murder of his older sister, when he was a kit, Ashenpaw is timid, frightened of most everything, paranoid, and doesn't think highly of himself.
On the eve of a winter storm, Ashenpaw is on a hunting patrol with Venomfire. The storm rolls in slowly, so the cats pay it no mind. Determined to stop being an embarassment to Venomfire, Ashenpaw chases a squirrel out into a clearing. Ashenpaw catches the squirrel before he feels the ground quake beneath his paws. Trembling, Ashenpaw slowly looks up to see a wall of snow coming down the mountain towards him. Lastly, Ashenpaw hears Venomfire call his name before he's lost in the avalanche.
The game of survival begins now...
