••Background: Kestrelfire was born blind and has learned to cope with the curious stares and extra helpfulness brought to his clanmates. Right away, Kestrelfire didn’t want to be helped, but help others instead. He wanted to prove he could overcome his disadvantage in the world by making it into an advantage unique to himself.
His father, Hawkstorm, wanted him to become a warrior to show how strong his son could be. However, Kestrelpaw couldn’t react to his opponent’s moves fast enough and his leader decided he would never survive in an actual battle. Luckily, the clan’s medicine cat needed an apprentice and Kestrelpaw was eager to begin training as a medicine cat. Later, we he proved himself capable of being a full medicine cat his mentor gave him the name Kestrelfire because despite his blindness, his heart burned with compassion and dedication. Unfortunately, his mentor passed away shortly after from illness and Kestrelfire has been DarkClan’s sole medicine cat ever since.
Kestrelfire can often be seen with his siblings if he’s not treating anyone. He’s closest with his brother, Silentstorm, who is completely deaf. The brothers have learned to rely on each other to show the other what they’re missing. Silentstorm is Kestrelfire’s ‘eyes’ while Kestrelfire serves as Silentstorm’s ‘ears.’ Both brothers are close with their sister, Nightflower, for after their mother died while they were still kits, she took over as their motherly figure. Her cunning and ingenuity allowed her to come up with ways to teach her brothers how to live their lives normally, despite having one sense missing.

At first, I found I was afraid and didn't want anything to do with you. Now, I feel like I've found my other half. I like solving the mystery of Sestrel with you and I feel we've grown closer because of this shared secret. You're like a long-lost brother who's finally been found. I'm amazed at how well you can fight, despite being blind, for I originally tried to be a warrior. I'm still afraid of what my clanmates may think of me seeing you, especially since I consider you a close friend now.

You're....strange....amazing....powerful. You've told me so much about yourself and yet I know so little. I'm afraid of who you may truly be, for I can tell you're quite the charmer. Your voice alone can melt a cat's heart and your piecing blue gaze can lure a cat to their doom. You carry a strange power and you continue to surprise me with every new ability. You say I'm one of your reincarnations and that Sebastian is the other. I'm not sure what that means or what I'm supposed to do about it. And even though your comments irritate me, I can't help but come crawling back. Your very presence seems to have that affect on me and it shocks me that you already influence me so greatly.
